Aright;

I wen to over to my folks house, and was letting the little bro's play the PS3(they currently have a Wii and 360)... So their tv does 1080i, so I set it as such, but when I got home, the resolution seems stuck that way, and my tv only does 480i it seems. So basically, I cannot see a thing on my tv when the ps3 is on... What do I do?(other than the obvious drive two hours back to their home and reset the res???

Ok, well I found a solution to the probem, just in case anyone else runs into the problem.

First: turn off the PS3 via the power button I/O
Second: Hold it down for 5-7 seconds unti it beeps again, and the display settings automatically reset.

Good Luck!

do you have the regular a/v cables that it came with? If you arent using an HD cable, it has to default back to SD, no?

it would not go back on either cable, even when I tied the third hdmi option. But it's cool now.
