RAID/XP/Vista Help!

Thread Starter
Alright guys, its been a while but here we go.

I had XP installed on my array (2x250GB WD2500KS's) and now I get a vgaoam.fon not found error when booting. I am going straight to Vista as I have had a copy waiting.

What I need to know is can I install a new OS (XP or Vista) on another IDE drive. Boot from that, and then hook up a USB HD to pull my old data off of the raid array since I cannot boot into it right now..? (I am pretty sure I could)

Also, does Vista have decent RAID drivers built in? I thought I read somewhere a while back that you do not have to load RAID drivers for Vista as you do/did for xp.

Thanks guys! It's going to be a loooong night.

Update:

I just installed xp on a slave drive but i cannot access the raid array.

If I install the raid drivers via F6 at setup will I be able to boot off of a single drive and then access the raid array once in windows?

Raid drivers for 680i are built into vista, if they are not, you can now use any media to install the raid drivers. You can tell when the raid drives don't show up in the hard drive install list.
