Or run several tests on the 1/2", keep the same overall length but cut in one more fitting for each test to see how much each added fitting cuts the overall head and flowrate. Do the same with the 7/16"

Why do all that? Your flow will be bottlenecked by the smallest ID in the loop...If you want to test get a garden hose and fill up a gallon jug time it...Now put your thumb over half of the end of it and fill up a gallon jug and time it...I'll bet a dollar I know which one wins...And with the tubing were talking about 1/16" of a inch difference in the ID not 50%...
