can someone explain the tubing thing with me like whats ID or OD or generally what the 1/4 n stuff mean

ID stands for inner diameter, OD for outer diameter.

Almost every tubing size is quoting the inner diameter. So 1/2" tubing will have a ID of 1/2" and an OD of 3/4" with the walls being 1/8" thick.

There are many different combinations of ID and OD with different wall thicknesses. Usually the bigger the ID the higher the flow rate, but there is also a trade off, where the thicker tubing can also be harder to route through your case.

To add... Do you also mean G 1/4" or 1/4" BSPP? If so, that is the screw treading type on the metal/plastic fittings that connect the tubing.

This is a T line

It serves the same purpose as a reservoir, it's where you fill and prime the pump/system and it also has a top hole in the T that captures the air out of the system. T lines take up less space but take longer to bleed the air out. I also think reservoirs are slightly more restrictive, but in the end they are largerly a preference thing. Some guys that are runing dual outlet cpu water blocks like using the dual inlet reservoirs as a place to merge again.

If you look closely in the above picture you can see the tiny white air bubble running up the T line on the left side, this is what it looks like bleeding the first few hours. It usually takes a couple of days to get every last bubble out, sometimes longer. A reservoir can cut that down quite a bit.

I had a reservoir and found filling my T-line was much easier and didn't have the same chance of sucking in air if low, so I got rid of the reservoir. I've recently switch to a 5/8" T fitting which helps the bleeding process even more with the larger top opening

Oh yeah, very common. You'll find alot of guys on here run 7/16" tubing, so do I. In fact the T fitting you see above is a 5/8" Fitting with 7/16" tubing that way the inside diameters match.
