Overclock Temp...Normal?

Thread Starter
I just built a new system. It is an E6600 with AC7 cooler. I overclocked it to 3.0GHz and am reading speedfan temps of 29C idle. this seems to me to be a very low temp compared to what others are getting. i get the same reading with everest. Are these programs wrong or did i just do an insanly good job of mounting the hsf?

use coretemp or TAT to measure the temp both thoose programs read off the diode at the back of the mobo so are inaccurate

With your ambient temp, I'd say your 29ºC sounds about right. If you have good case airflow the AC7 can be a great cooler. I think that you're ok using Speedfan and Everest, in my experiences, those seem to be pretty accurate programs!

Are you at stock Vcore??????

yes i am at stock vcore. I was worried when i saw those core temp readings because i felt fins on the heat sink and they are ice cold. it was confusing.do you know what the temperature readings in speed fan mean( other than core#0/core#1 of course!)?

That's something you have to figure out on your own, or find someone else who has your MB and uses SpeedFan and ask them. It's usually pretty simply to figure it out though. At least it was for me!
