How can I OC w/the P6N diamond?

That gives an outline of the bios.

Honestly, I've never overclocked, and after going through the C2D overclocking guide on THGforumz and not finding all of the things listed in the guide in my bios, I did not commit any changes, because I didn't want to screw anything up.... I realize you can just select various OC %s directly in the bios, but I don't think that's nearly as aggressive as I can get with it, so I'd like to try more! I have used the search function and I did not see any threads relevant to OCing w/this mobo.

If you know how to OC w/this bios, please let me know!

Look for something called the Cell Menu. That's what MSI calls it. See what kind of options you have inside. Usually you want to increase the bus speed. Some board give this in the Front Side Bus speed (i.e. 266) or the total bus speed (i.e. 1066)

Either way disable spread spectrum, thermal monitoring(SpeedStep I think), C1E, and EIST if you have any of those. increase that about 20 FSB (or 80 effective bus speed) at a time until you become unstable. Once you can't post reset the BIOS and bump vcore up just one notch and see how far you can go from there.

Last once you're happy with your overclock it's time to tighten timings. See what the board has defaulted them to by using CPU-Z and then go back in your BIOS and bring them down one notch at a time. Leaving them loose to begin with ensures you reach a higher clock speed and are not being limited by anything.

Always remember increasing the core voltage too much or not providing adequate cooling can and will damage the CPU. I recommend CoreTemp for C2D chips and SpeedFan for Pentium class chips. Intel has stated that it's IntelTAT is not intended for use with C2D's and won't give you a very accurate reading.

Yes, there is a cell menu. There's a picture of the options in there in that link that I posted.

Do you think you could take a look at it and let me know what some of the fields mean? I know what some of them are, but I'm not sure how it's reading the speeds of the memory and stuff in relation to the FSB and all.

I guess I should post system specs:
[MOBO: MSI P6N Diamond]
[CPU: E6600 C2D]
[COOLER: Zalman 9700 LED]
[GREASE: Artic Silver Ceramique]
[MEMORY: Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066]
[GFX: EVGA 8800 GTX]
[PSU: Corsair 620HX]
[HDD: 2x 320GB Seagate 7200.10 SATA]
[OPTIC: Samsung SH-S183L (SATA 18X w/lightscribe)]
[CASE: Thermaltake Armor (+25cm fan)]

sorry.. fixed it.. should work now!!

Hmm.. actually.. you cannot see the memory speed there. In the section "System Clock Mode" there should be Memory Clock (Mhz) under FSB Clock.

It was defaulted to 800 when I got my board, but I've raised it a bit, because windows would hang during the "copying files" part of installation.
