You know they have the second strongest economy in the world, right?

If this were to hit mainstream, media will appear for it. Like everything.

Actually...what is the resolution for IMAX film? I recently saw "Beautiful Desolation" in 3D at the Kennedy Space center...very nice stuff. I'm pretty sure the actual film is more than 6 inches across.

If I'm not mistaken, HDTV is supposed to be mainstream by 2008 or 2009 in the US. I remember reading an article about this a while back. Once HD takes over, all the analog will be given to fire/police stations. It will provide a much better and faster way to communicate than the normal radios they are using now.
Like I said, I read this a while ago, maybe a year and a half ago. So I'm not sure if this still holds 100% true...

It was in my Interactive Media class. I believe it was an article from somewhere like the New York Times or Cnn. Something like that. My teacher would often times copy the articles from a newspaper or magazine, and some times get them from the internet from credible sources. So I'm not sure. He gave them to us for homework along with some questions about the article. I'll try and look around for it. I might actually have the article in one of my old binders.

EDIT: I found the Article. It's older than I though. haha And I did find it on The Wall Street Journals Website, but I'd have to buy it in order to see the whole thing and so I could just copy and paste here. So I had I'm only typing out a few parts here and there.

FCC Tries to Sell Consumers on Digital TVs
Uncle Sam wants you-to buy a digital television.

So much so that the federal government is launching a national campaign, in partnership with the consumer-electronics makers and retailers, to explain what to look for in a digital television set.

The age of digital television, which provides home viewers with more of a cinematic experience from their sofa, has been promised for nearly twenty years.

Now the federal government wants to finalize the so-called digital transition, which was supposed to take place by 2006 but was postponed until 2009.
That's just a small bit from it. I'll scan the article into my other computer in a little while and post it up here.

EDIT 2: Here's the full article
