How to remove ram heatspreaders?

Anybody have any experience on or know how to remove the heatspreaders on ram? Should i use a blow dryer to heat it up first... or like stick it in the freezer... ive been looking around and i havnt gotten a clear answer...

thanks for the advice.

They are all different but generally you remove the little clip thing and then pull each side off

Beware though , I have seen many pictures of ram where the ICs have stuck to the heatspreaders

each ram is different, best bet is to check and find out how ram is attached.
For instance some of the older G.Skill can be removed with a hairdryer and a knife, but the newer ones actually slide off with just your fingers.

mmm doesnt really have anything to do with the ram i have... i just wanted to remove the heat spreaders and was wondering if there is any good safe way to effectively remove them...

well... this is the actual ram that im removing them from... if it helps
