From the horses mouth. Dude, you just said it was a rocky system at launch as well...
I've NEVER heard anyone saying that the 360 would fail. They said it was a "rocky" launch, and you agree. So, how are they backpedalling? You just murdered your entire argument.
And Television sets and laptops have nothing to do with PS3 sales.
Sony's a successful company in SOME areas, but every tyrant's gotta fall down every so often.
AND, I'm not even AGREEING that the PS3 is toast. Better believe I'll have one when Squaresoft (Screw SQUARE-ENIX!!) drops games.
And you just listed Nintendo, which even further shows that no matter how badly you do, it takes a lot for you to, "fall". Hell, Sega bombed with everything they put out from the Sega CD all the way up to the Dreamcast, yet they are still alive and kicking, just not making systems anymore.
Nintendo bombed with the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, and they still survived.
It's highly unlikely Sony will "die" or "fall" with the PS3 when they dominated the market with the PS1 and PS2. If the PS4 bombs, then yeah, fine Sony is in trouble, but saying they're in trouble just from the PS3 is a really invalid argument to make.
www.vgchartz.com has the "sell-through" count for the PS3's at 3.29 million. It's been what, 5 months since the PS3 launch? The 360 was at about 3.5-4 million sell through 5 months after its launch, so I fail to see how the PS3 is any worse than the 360 in shape, when the Wii wasn't even around when the 360 was launched.
"Units shipped: 5.5 Million. Units sold: 3.5 Million" As of April 1st, 2007. That's 4 and a half months after launch.
Let's see where the 360 was 4-5 months after launch.
Roughly 4 million units sold in up to Q2 2006, which is roughly 4-6 months after launch.
Wow, yeah. This Bank of America guy knows EXACTLY what he's talking about.
The actual count for units SOLD and not units shipped, is actually 5.5 million in the US and for the PS3 1.3 million so far. Hardly as big of a flop as people say it is. You should always take away the 1 year of sales ahead of the PS3 the 360 had. The 360 from November 2006 up until May 1st, 2007 has only had an abysmal amount of sales over the PS3.
