i know on some older boards the chip is just kinda there, you could get a flathead screwdriver and pop it out.

I will see if i can find a picture...

For hot-swapping a BIOS chip. His friends motherboard (if I get it right) is dead by a misflash, and he wants to flash it with the right BIOS on his own board by swapping it.

Some board do have a bios chip that you can take you.I could take mine out,it looks like one of thow old school push in chips and it says award bios in the top of it.I am sure you could copy you bios to a floppy replace the chip and then flash it if that is wait you are asking.
