So far its tied up between hp w2207, samsung 226bw (oh no!!!), the glossy acer, and an acer al2216bwd. The acer al2216bwd can be picked up from ebay for around $200 after s/h... plus this, and this

I'm typing this, looking at the sceptre 22" and it looks beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Great for the price as well compared with the stats.

I'm the exact opposite of Chail, I got the Samsung 22 inch and I love it. This is only my third day with the monitor. I also actually went from the exact same Viewsonic you had so I know what your used to looking at. The Samsung rocks.

Great link on the 226BW conspiracy!

Fortunately ... I got the S panel and colors are spot on ... no dominance of blue or otherwise ... and backlight bleeding in a pitch black room is nil with contrast and brightness at 60/60 ...

Again ... great info ...

My only beef with the 226BW is the fact that they didn't give you the ability to turn off the power button light!

When watching DVD's in a dark room ... it's really bothersome.

I've considered several times taking the thing apart but don't want to void my warranty ... so for the time being, I'm using the high tech solution illustrated below:

lol sweet pics

edit: Quick ? Sunburnti: Are you still using the vx922 in dual monitor set up?

Where do you guys think the best place to purchase the Sammy be? Just in case I don't get the "s"...
Or rather a place that is known for giving out the "s"?

The biggest problem is price, the Acer will do the job, for $100 less...
NVM I spend way too much time at my comp to care...

If you get the Samsung, just get it somewhere local. I would never buy something like a monitor online. If I ever want to take it back or something happens, the store is always right there. Plus online dead pixel policies suck hardcore. If there's even 1 dead pixel, I don't care what the policy is, I don't want the monitor.

I will run the two in dual screen mode.

I am stuck on which one to purchase.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...582&name=22%22

The ChiMei has some great reviews, but the Spectre x22wg has really great stats.

Also, the Samsung 225bw looks like a sure win, but is the extra 60 dollars for a name brand monitor worth the money?

I have read in other threads that Dell and Gateway have good monitors, should
I look into those monitors?
My friend and I both have that Sceptre and we both run it in dual screen and we both have been amazed by it's performance. You will too.

I, however, replaced the stand with a better one that I bought from sceptre for $20. Well worth it.

Don't wait ANY longer on this decision.

Yeah, there's a pretty bright blue one on the Sceptre that blinks. I have to make sure to always power the monitor off. It has become such a habit I don't really mind at all..
