Don't wait ANY longer on this decision.
I know, I need to stop waiting around for this decision. I just have been worried about the money. I have been trying to save up for car, moving out etc... but then again I will be looking at this thing for countless hours for the next year or so (aspiring game developer, self teaching myself opengl as we speak). So I shouldn't low ball something like this.

so true, one dead pixel would bug the **** out of me, and make all that money go to waste, but i got the vx922 w/ no dead pixels off the internet...
and I don't know of too many people that get dead pixels so I'm not so worried.
thanks for all your help...
I did the same thing with my rig, I spent countless hours last fall just researching researching researching till xmas came along, if I would have just built it right off the bat, I could have enjoyed it all fall long
I don't want to waste anymore of my summer waiting around for a monitor... ahh such a tough decision! So many legit choices!
edit: Ok found out a great deal through HP. Sign up for their Academic Purchase Program, get discounts on their items, no tax (I believe) and free shipping... leaving the w2207 for $357
So HP w2207 for 357 total (hp direct)
Samsung 226bw for 342(free shipping)-20 MIR = 322 total (egg)
Acer X222wbd for 315 total (egg)
Stand off between hp and samsung...
