Eh, sort of the same situation with CPU and RAM

GFX cards has a core; which can be thought of in a similar way as one would think of a CPU, and ram; which basically serves the same purpose.

Not sure EXACTLY what the ram on GFX cards store, but i believe it is all the data involved in generating the image you see; like textures and what not.

I lied, one more question to.........
When overclocking a processor, you up the fsb which makes the processor receive the data faster. this in return makes the processor itself speed up while processing the extra data? or is the processor speed another option to raise in bios?

Well since everything is linked to your FSB, your whole system speed is increased; CPU, RAM, FSB.

But you can increase the CPU speed independently by raising the multiplier. That is, if your CPU has an unlocked multiplier.

the normal way of Overclocking is by raising the fsb untill you get unstable...when that happens...slowly back it out till it is...then rais the CPU voltage by 1 step...and go higher...same with system ram but you get what you pay for with the ram. Vid cards overclock differently depending on the brand you get.... Nvidia is the King right now so idk

Well no... The FSB is reserved for the North and South(?) bridges and the RAM. The graphics cards, HD's, and other thingies that may be plugged in, all have their own frequencies.

Overclocking via the FSB raises teh speed of the CPU, the FSB, and the RAM. So in that case overall performance is increased...

But if you were running at a 3:4 ratio FSB : RAM then there wouldn't be a performance increase. Except in certain programs...

And if you were to up the multi of the CPU, it could simply process work faster..

The PCI bus also goes with the FSB unless you lock it down to 33.33mhz, which is recommended when overclocking so you don't damage your computer.
