Latency

Thread Starter
Hi. Im new around here and you will probably see me asking a few noobish questions. So, here I go.

I recently had my computer forcibly updated to Vista, and now I get super high latency. I am running on a cable modem and used to get between 30 and 50 ms latency. Now when I load CS:Source, I get 50ms latency to begin with, but after I click quick refresh, I get 400ms, and then 1000ms and it goes all the way up to about 8 or 9 thousand ms latency. I'm blaming Vista but Microsoft won't help me and my ISP says my line and router are fine. My download speed is the same as before but now google takes 25 mins to load.

Please Help !

start>run> type in CMD which will bring up an old dos command promt.

type in tracert www.yahoo.com
then try tracert www.google.com
or tracert and any address or ip that you want and post some screen shots.
chances are it's not vista but I could be wrong.
