Summer = Evil

post #1 of 22
Thread Starter
Ever since summer started, my room temperature has been higher than usual. The temperatures around my area are around 80 to 90 Fahrenheit. This has lead my usual CPU idle temps of 33C to about 44C on the hottest days. Any ideas on what I could do to reduce the temperature of my computer? I have a room fan blowing air at it but... it's not helping much. You can post links to other threads as well with similar topics since I can't seem to find them.

Yeah, but the vent for it is about 10 feet away from my computer, and when it was on last night, it probably reduced it about 2C.

Pft thats nothing... my prescott is currently idling at 48C, stock clocks. While playing WoW for a couple of hours, it got up to 68C. I'm ordering an XP-90/panaflo 92mm right now to hopefully curb the problem.

I am OC'ed to 3.6 24/7 and have the same summer issues but my idle temp are 32C with the Ultra 120 extreme. Maybe if your not overclocked you should check your vcore and lower it if you can. At stock I can lower mine to 1.18 and idle around 23-26c stock. If you can afford it upgrade your HSF. Hope this helps

I still idle at 25c.

Central air + basement ftw.
