The rated FSB will be 333x4=1332. Always multiply it by 4 for the cpu and 2 for the memory.

my ram should I run the sli ready ram as exert for the higher spd speeds.
I tried overclocking with a fsb of 333 and 1.35v no go with freezes in windows start. I turned off the sli ready ram from expert to disable or something like that and now it runs fine now @ 3000MHz

What about these temps are they bad. Core Temp shows +15c over nvtune cpu temp

I think I need some new coolant. will new clean coolant help

Currently fans are pushing through the radiator.
Is pulling air better

Your real load temps probably won't show up til after 15 minutes or so. As well, anyone know the major difference between Gromax and Small FTT's?

With water, your temps @ 3.0ghz should be below that on load.

Yeah those temps do seem a bit high, but nothing to worry to much about. You said you have the fans pushing through the rad, try switching them around so they are pulling air through the rad. You should/might see a 1-2C drop in temp.

I'm getting the same temps at 3.2 @1.400V with ambient between 74F - 78F, wow is it hot out today!

Oh and Audi, I have no idea about the difference between Gromax and FFT's. I don't even know if Gromax will fail if its unstable, it may be more like TAT and just pump out the heat.

So ReCoil, make sure you're using small FFT's to test your overclock not Gromax.

To tell you the truth when I'm playing a game my CPU will never peg all 4 cores maybe 25% usage at best.

For a Quad core you need to run 4x Orthos or 2x Orthos SP2004 (The version built for dual cores).

You are only using 50% of your processor there... (I think)

You need to run Small FFT (8k Length) tests instead of the StressCPU tests.

Open up your task manager and make sure its using 100% CPU.

If you are using dual core orthos for a Core 2 Quad....... open 2x orthos for dual cores
open task manager, set Affinity to cpu #0 and #1 on one and #2 and #3 on the other.
Orthos will do all 4 cores with 2 open, each one will do 2 cores you just have to set to which core.

Or like you said open up 4 single core orthos, but set affinity 4 times so you don't run the first core 4x

Just because I'm picky.....when you say "dual core" here I think you mean dual die

Quote:
If you open up 4 dual core orthos you will only run the first 2 cores but multiplied by 4. super hot
There is no way to make a single core do more work then it is capable of, 4 instances of orthos will run just as hot as 2 or 100. Each instance of orthos will just have less CPU time allocated to it, and run slower.

2 instances of Orthos with affinity set to 0/1 and 2/3 will suit you just fine
