These instructions are really confusing...

This is really strange... It tells me to install johnywests mod which is a dmg file.. which only runs on a mac right? And then it tells me to do things in DOS... ***???

which part is confusing?

get the windows version of the apple installer. the dos stuff is no big deal. You run it from the Start->Run... which starts a program that runs in a dos-like shell which is used to pull the info - looks like you have to try a few times to find the device. Let me know where you get stuck.
