Can't enter P5N-E SLI BIOS Setup

I just built a machine using the ASUS P5N-E SLI mobo. The machine will POST, but then hangs on the ASUS splash screen where I can press 'del' to enter setup or 'tab' to view the POST info. Pressing either key will either result in no operation or the computer will restart. If I hold F8 during boot, the splash screen will say "Loading boot menu..." and just hang there indefinately. I cannot get into the BIOS by any method. I want to flash the BIOS using EZflash, but pressing ALT-F2 at the BIOS splash screen does nothing, or restarts the system.

I have tried jumping the CMOS and reseating the battery. I am currently using 2gb of GSKILL rated for 2.0 - 2.1v and 4-4-4-12. If I insert some old Kingston ram instead of the GSKILL, the system produces a loud prolonged beep that continues until I power down. The BIOS splash screen is never displayed in this case. I have tried reaseating the GSKILL ram with no change in results.

Here is my system:
Fortron Blue Storm 500w
ASUS P5N-E SLI
EVGA 8800GTS 320mb
Intel E6600

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this has been posted in the P5N-E thread, but I didn't feel like perusing over 130 pages.
Thanks.

You need some 1.8v RAM to get in and set the bios I do believe!

Just plugged in a stick of 1.8v kingston. Same problem. The system freezes at the BIOS splash screen. It does not respond to keyboard commands at that time. BIOS is 0401.
