I was thinking at first that a thicker rad will not fit--but the fact is it will--depending on your mobo layout. On mine it would. If I had been able to tell thatI would have gone with a Thermochill PA 120.2.

I have not had a chance to tear the rig apart and change the pump...

Performance-PCs has a new German made rad that is 38mm and UV blue...I was gonna try it--it's new and has no reviews...but I thought it was too thick..

Another thing to consider is mount the rad all the way to edge of top furthest from the mobo (closest to the window--this will give more room for the mobo parts. And the edge of the 200mm fan moves a lot lot lot more air than the middle. So placing the rad by the edge of the fan is a good thing.

Despite the block offs I can feel a lot of air pressure at the edges...some tape would cure that.

Did you even have any fans on your rad?

There is a 200mm directly above it--and all the case fans push in--only the top fan pulls out--so all the air in the case is forced through the rad...theoretically.

Right now I have been Folding at 100% load for about three days and the temps are pretty much in the mid 60c range all the time. At idle the temps drop to the mid 40 C range--which relates to the spec of 15C delta in a C2D between Idle and Load.

The issue is shaving 10C off those temps--there is no way to change the delta from load to idle.

Considering the paltry flow from the DB-1 in this loop it is clear to me that the restrictions are too many and too great for the little pump. In the PA160/FuZion loop with no elbows it performs perfectly reducing the idle temp to about 5C above ambient on lowest fan speed and this is with a single fan.

In this setup the BlackIcePro and ApogeeGTx seem to be too restricitive--plus I have a total of 4 elbows in the loop. Reworking the loop to reduce or remove elbows is possible--but would completely fill the case with tubing and pretty much detract from the look I have achieved.

I would love to fit a PA 160 inside--but that just is not happening. I do have a version of this--the original 900LCC--that fits the rad top mounted over the 200mmfan exterior of the case. That works like a champ.

Most likely I will leave everything the same and change only the pump. If the MCP 655 does not make a difference in overall temps then I can start by reseating the waterblock to make sure that is correct. If that does nothing then I can rearrange the rad to the side to take advantage of the better pressure at the outside of the 200mm prop.

If that does nothing then I can try to fit a better Rad up there. IMO even a PA120 from Thermochill should outperform the 2 x 120 HW labs BIPII

I am researching the size/availabilty of automotive/motorccle oil coolers that might fit in that space.\\

I use an auto transmission cooler from NAPA on WaterClocker with great success using a single low cfm fan.

Well I don't use the bottom drive cage at all, and probably never will. I am going to somehow find a way to fit a PA120.1 in the bottom with the cage still being removable.

That's most likely do able. I think a single PA 120 would outperform most of the rads listed everywhere. It's massively thick and has great flow.

Thats kickass dude! great work Question about the SilenX fans though, do they push half of the air they're rated to really push or are they just fake? They're good looking but as far as I've heard they don't push anything near what they claim to.

Not sure how to answer your question as you ask it in a strange manner. "Do they push half the air they are rated to?" Well yes I would say about twice that...

As far as I can tell they move a lot of air--I don't have a scientific way to test their output...but compared to other fans I have on hand that are rated that same cfm they seem to be comparable.

I guess if you want you could get some and test them somehow...

I love it Cyber. Could you help me with modifying my Antec P180B? I'm looking for a silent solution, that still brings the temps down.

I have not got around to chopping up any of the 180 type cases...I hear they are a qualit case...I just have not direct experience with one. I imagine you could go with deepr bod fans in some areas...and maybe could mod the front to accomodate one...not sure.

But it seems to be a good case. I may have to get one and see what I can do.

I only meant to ask if they seem to push a lot of air as they say they do. I've read hundreds of user reviews saying that they don't. Of course you're right, unless you have some way of really testing airflow you wouldn't know. But since you're using them I figured you found them to be good enough.
