GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP Runs Slow - Page 2

Thread Starter
Well I went out today and bought a new Power Supply 500 Watts with over 40A on 12V rail and my problem was not fixed. I still get bad FPS while playing games...what do you think could be my problem? Thanks let me know.

use the latest drivers for your card off the nvidia site, after using driver cleaner pro. Reinstall all your chipset drivers.

If none of that helps then try formatting windows, or getting rid of any resource hogs.

Your pc is no way a problem my old fx5500 could get a constant 100fps in cs 1.6 with a 2ghz penium4

seriously though even if the temp of his p4 are sky high and its throttling this still wouldnt make him get only 20fps in cs 1.6. You can run that game perfect on a 2ghz celeron.

What are the cards temps?

Could be a driver issue too, I had a bunch of problems with my 7800GS dealing with drivers. Look around to see if you can find somewhere that shows the best drivers to use with your card.

my bet is on drivers, cause i can get 80FPS with a TNT2 on an XP1600 on my backup rig just fine, its gotta be drivers

Yeah, 40A on the 12v is 480W, and it's a 500W PSU...
