Shure SE530

Thread Starter
I'm contemplating buying these for my Ipod Nano, but haven't ever been able to audition them. Has anyone here heard the SE530? I'm not really interested in opinions on the other Shure models, but only this specific model because 3 drivers should sound completely different from the E4C and lower models.

From what I've heard, Shure makes excellent headphones. I'm not sure if that applies to all of their products, but they're definitely a brand worth looking into. At least until you get hit by sticker shock.

I believe the SE530s are pretty much exactly like the E500s without the integrated microphone on the chord. ElMiketheMike purchased a pair fairly recently.

He came from a pair of Bose OE headphones, and was very impressed with those when he had them... however, since getting the Shures, he seems to have changed his opinion on Bose's sound "quality" . He seems to enjoy them greatly.

Thanks, I'm planning on quite a few trips in the next 12 months, so I'm looking for something semi high end to take on the road with an Ipod. Rep for the help

Wow if you can afford those i congratulate you

anyway i've listned to them once. When I was in NYC in the brookstone they had a pair that i plugged into my zen. The noise canceling works great. They are a great pair of buds.

I have the Shure E3c's and they only have 1 driver. You can really hear the fallout in bass sometimes. The way to see if your headphones can handle the music you play is if. When you play a music with alot of high pitched notes and if the sound CUTS through then that means your headphones can't keep up with the music

Also make sure you have good source material ie... your music on your nano. Remember headphones can't make your music sound better, they can show EXACKLY what it is. So if you have crap 128mp3's it will show in your ears

I personaly use 256 VBR Lame

Yep, I'm all too familiar with low quality source material sounding like crap on high end equipment. I had a fully active Linn home theatre system (still have a lot of the pieces) and vandersteen subwoofers. With a horrible recording it was literally painful to listen to, but if fed a high quality source, it was absolutely magic I've never heard better for under $100k Anyways, thanks for the input and I've thought already about this. I am modding the input of my X-FI to try to preserve the best quality as I record my collection. If this doesn't seem to be enough, I plan on selling my X-Fi and getting an Elite-Pro and doing the mod again on it. I don't want to stray from having a gaming sound card, so I'm sticking with the X-Fi series. Rep for the input !

Wow! If anyone else is on the fence in regard to buying these, I can give my full recommendation. These things are fantastic! Much higher quality sound than I had expected.
