For people using the AM2 socket what chipsets will support the dual cores,and will they need a 680 chipset or better to support the quads.I have a 590 sli chipset and was looking to get a quad Phenom.I realy dont whant to get a new MOBO i got this one less than 2 months ago.

Incorrect

L3 cache has been used sometime but was placed onboard.
EDIT: L3 cache was used on a mainboard (just the wrong word )
L1: are command buffer at both the begin and the end of the instruction engine
L2: Is a general storage (remembral for faster calculations) located at the beginning "task" manager (or whatever it's called)

L3 is just a layer on top of that.
(Maybe an instruction queue between core IDK)
