Noisy fan, Hookup advice??

I just put a new PSU in my system. I put a 500 watt ULTRA infinity in. I hooked it up and everything powers up fine. Although at times it seems to get very loud like a buzzing bee and then it just stops. IS this normal? It has one 120mm fan in it. My speed fan reads say 11.73 on 12+ and 5.5 on the 5 volt, does this look OK? Also just to confirm... it has 2 ,12volt rails so I hooked the DVD drive and H drive together on 1 rail. And I hooked up the GPU and floppy drive on the other. Would it make sense to do it this way or should I re-configure it? Thanks for the help !!!

Could be that when the PSU reaches a certain temperature, the fan speeds up to cool it down. Then it would go back to normal speed until it reaches that temp again.

Possibly?

I think you may be onto something . I have noticed when the CPU temp.hits 60 it goes into this louder speed. I sit idle at 58 so i only have 2 deg. to play with. Are there any solutons?
