I don't have AC, i do have a freezer though

Im very suprised athow how many responses and how quickly they came to this topic. It's obviously been asked a fair few times before!

Maybe il just have to get one of those water chillers.

All around bad idea. Not only for water flow, but especially for all the food being stored in there!

Either put it in front of your AC, go with a Pelt or some type of chill system, or just be happy with a standard WC system.

ok it goes down like this:

unless you have a heavy duty freezer, a heavy duty radiator, and heavy duty tubing with antifreeze coolant, it won't work.

generally it doesn't work with cpu cooling components.

it may seem like its working for the first few minutes or even hours, but it will breakdown before 1/2 the day is up with cpu cooling componenets.

now it will work if you put it in your refrigator, BUT it will put a tremendous load on your refrigator, because of the constant heat exchange, AND you have to deal with consendation.

in the typical household they have a typical refrigator, now these refrigators run on a timer, every few hours of the day they will shut off and let the cool air inside to the cooling without any parts running (except the background components like temperature monitor). they do this because the cooling components will over heat, and some parts will freeze up preventing the refrigator from working again. thats why usually when a refrigator stops putting out cold air a small amount of times just unplugging it for a day will bring it back to life - > because the timer has malfunctioned and cannot turn it self off.

now if your going to do this with a industrial refrigator it will still be a big load, because basically most of your cpu is being cooled by the refrigator, and it cannot handle all that heat no matter the heavy duty ness. it will shorten the life of the refrigator. even if you do this. the tubes will ahve to be covered to prevent drops of water inside the comptuer machine, and the socket will have to be covered with some foaming. but still much danger remains

its is generally not recommended, usually it is recommended with heavy tubing only have the lines run from the radiator through the refrigator and to the cpu socket, and back to the radiator, but not only is that a hassle, but still stupid and dangerous

How about you just give all your hardware to me? I won't kill it, just force it into submission safely.

LOL how will we see? if your do it, and your machine fries, you can't come to OCN. and if your refrigator breaks, you will have to sell your system to help buy a new one. so we won't see you again.

i guess if we don't see you we know what happened.

i race rc cars as a hobby and some of the electric lads are using a thermo cooler on the motors before they race to drop the motors temp to zero,i wonder if you could bolt one of these onto the cpu?

they work off a 12v supply and are a peltier device.
