Hey top producers! Whattcha got cookin?

Thread Starter
Hi guys, well I was just looking at the stats on extreme overclocking, and wow the race is on I guess between quite a few of us! I gotta have em goin 24/7 just to keep buick's whip off my tail , and he's still gaining on me at the moment. So is K092084, he's moving up the ranks pretty nice. Well, I'm not really racing anyone, just trying to do my part you know . I hope people do pass me up, more points for the team and it's cause .

But look how close it is between the few of us lol (me, taeric, 455buick, jeffmace, and k092084). Then of course there's knitelife, putting out what 4 of us do heheh. Anyway I was interested in hearing from some of you 4000+ ppd folders. Just a quick list of what you have folding, and how it's folding. I know you have the rig showcase stickie taeric, but not all us top producers are on it. And I'm just trying for a much shorter list, just the few of us really putting out the points. I know some of what a couple of you have (especially taeric and buick), but partly for my own curiosity, and partly to possibly help other folders maximize their output, so humor me eh?

I'll go first, just cpu type and it's speed (including fsb!)and type of folding, maybe ram amount and timings if you want, as they can affect output some I guess. IMO cooling and other details are useless, as they won't really affect output, they're just how you got it there. I'd really like to hear from all five of us neck-and-neck in the race guys, if possible . You too knitelife, I know I saw a thread with a breakdown of what you're folding on, but feel free to let us know what you got going atm.

--Rig1--E6600 fsb380+ @3.4-3.45 (tweaked around occasionally), running Windows Vista+ Vmware + Ubuntu 64bit + SMP. 2gb ram@ 4-4-4-12. **Edit**Oh also, since vmware folding can flux from high 70's-100%, I also run a regular Windows console client (not smp, not enough leftover clocks to make the deadline), to ensure every drop is squeezed from that turnip!! Also, then I can still fold when gaming, since I pause Vmware for that.

--Rig2--E6400 fsb430+ @3.4-3.45 (usually,or close), also running Vmware+ubuntu+SMP, but on XP. 2gb ram@ 4-4-4-12. Like Rig1, also runs console client.

--Rig3--E4300 fsb360 @3.24, running only Windows XP SMP client. 2gb ram @4-4-4-12.

With those 3 rigs, and how they fold, if I leave them undisturbed 24/7, I can get over 5000 ppd.

@roscoemcgurk: thats pretty intense... you've got 3 high end system folding. i know im not a top producer but i still put out a good amount just using my sig rig. i also happen to know that knitelife is folding on like 6 quadcores overclocked over 3ghz if you want to know

Bah, you're not a real folder until you dig an ancient HP Pavillion out of the trash (ok, a friend gave it to me LOL) and put the Socket 370 Celeron to work. Sure, it's 68ppd, but hey, it's being useful

I'm hoping to add a Q6600 or a QX6700 soon which should put me up into the 4k club too

Hey Roscoe,

Not to worry.... I'll be adding another rig in July or so, but until then I have what I have. It's keeping all of them going - 13 rigs of many types from the lowest (XP1800+) to the highest (2 - Conroes E6400 and E6300).
Right now all of them are OC'd a little, about 10% due to heat issues in some of the rooms I have them in. Even with A/C the rooms get hot - 80degF+.
One room has 6 rigs and 2 other rooms have 3 each....

The newer rig in July I hope will be a Conroe E6600... Maybe some quads by years end. I figure by then I'll be losing ground to everyone and need to keep up!

Take care and Fold On!

PS> As for the rest of you Folders - Great Job! When I started folding last year - February 11, 2006 - I was 595th at OCN and only 534,000+ people folded in the world. In addition OCN was 61st on the list of Folding Teams.

What a difference a year makes! There are 736,000+ folders in the world, or have been. OCN is 33rd in the world and soon to be 30th (over the next few months) and I'm 8th at OCN....

OCN could not have done this without everyone's support and contribution.
Thanks to all of you who fold!

My current setup -

X3210 @ 2.4 GHz 300x8 (and counting), 2 GB DDR2-800 - openSUSE 10.2 w/ 2x Linux SMP consoles

E6600 @ 3.6 GHz 400x9, 2 GB DDR2-1000 (at 4:5 - 5-5-5-15) - Win2k w/VMWARE running Ubuntu and Linux SMP client plus 2x Windows consoles

E6600 @ ~ 3.1 GHz (need to bump up now that AC is on), 2 GB DDR2-800 (1:1) - Win XP Pro w/VMWARE running Ubuntu and Linux SMP client plus 2x Windows consoles

Pentium M 730 @ 2.42 GHz (220x11), 2x512 MB DDR400 (1:1) - Win XP Pro with Windows console [selling this system soon]

AMD 2600+ mobile @ 2.52 (210x12) 512 MB DDR400 (soon to be 2x512 MB) - Win2k with Windows console

@ Roscoe - if you can get this info in the format I use for the overall database, I'll add everything. I'm way behind on updating that and will be giving it some attention soon.

I've got my sig rig at stock folding 24/7 with smp.

Pretty much everything else is computers at work.

Alot of dell, mainly some optiplex 725, and 320, with P4 HT at 3.0-3.40 ghz. All with at least 1gb ram. They aren't anything great, but they get the job done. Not sure how much they are on though.

I have my work computer 24/7, dell optiplex gx620, 3.0ghz P4 HT with 3gb ram.

Then a couple of dell latitude d620 laptops that are 1.83 ghz core 2 duo, folding at 30% each, not sure how much they are on either.

Then 1 dell precision 690, has xeon e5320 1.86ghz, with 4gb ram.

2 dell precision 380 P4 HT 3.20ghz with 2 gb ram.

Then a couple of dell deminsions 3000 P4 3.0ghz

All of them are the console version except my sig rig, and all are folding 100% except the laptops.

I would say with all my the works computer going I would have around 20-30 computers total at least, if not more.

Hi K,

So that explains your continued raise to fame!

Keep it up man.... Glad you're on our team...

Take care and Fold On! :-)

I run the following computers:

1 Q6600 on phase running native linux 24/7
2 Q6600 on air (moving one to water cooling soon) running native linux 24/7
2 Q6600 on air running windows smp used for software development but also folding 24/7

1 HP Proliant Server with dual core 2 xeons runs the office SQL server but also folding 24/7

On the native linux boxes I run 2 smp clients each. They produce 2 WUs ever 20 hours. Much more efficient than the windows SMP, but I need the ones running windows for development purposes, so cant switch them over.

I also have a few DL380 Proliants that are old 1.4ghz that take about a week to do a single core client.

When all goes well, I produce about 20K+ ppd, but I am still working out some glitches so it goes up and down.
