1 HP Proliant Server with dual core 2 xeons runs the office SQL server but also folding 24/7

On the native linux boxes I run 2 smp clients each. They produce 2 WUs ever 20 hours. Much more efficient than the windows SMP, but I need the ones running windows for development purposes, so cant switch them over.

I also have a few DL380 Proliants that are old 1.4ghz that take about a week to do a single core client.

When all goes well, I produce about 20K+ ppd, but I am still working out some glitches so it goes up and down.
Hi Knitelife,

Yeah and it's those "glitches" that take so much time. They may be only 10% of the folding operation, but take 90% of your time...

I'm just glad that for now anyway, all of my rigs seem to be running smooth. I hope to get one month of "smoothness" (June), before glitches show up!

Take care and Nice Job man! :-)

Hi K,

<"Every new computer that comes in, I install folding on it to try to help">

I guess so. According to Stanford you have 64 rigs going! That's impressive. Reminds me of RonindeBeatrice back in October of 2006. He had a whole school or IT area going for 6 weeks or so... Totaled over 221,000 points in one month. That was a record until Knitelife stated really going this past month of May with 489,100. RB's point total is still one I'm shooting for. Maybe by years end.... One can only hope.

Take care, :-)

What can I say. I try.
Wish I had been more into folding when I worked as help desk at a community college, then I could have put it on all the computer there also, which would have been like 150+.

Only wish I could get all of the other computers at work going. There are probably around 150-180. But some of them aren't worth installing it on though, way to old.

It was heavenly until the testing period for that server was expired

someday Ill be up there with you extreme folders, but it was cool to taste overwhelming folding power if it was only for 7 days. (I made more points in those 7 days than in the 2 months prior to that, haha!)

I should be getting my first conroe come fall, then a quad sometimes after x-mas. But I think by then I will have fallen behind XD

Now it says that I have 71 machines going.
Does it count a processor running 2 FAH clients as 1 processor or as 2? Like if you have each core doing a different WU.

Hi K,

I believe it counts each "machine" number posted to the site. So if you have one computer, but are running two SMP's or machine 1 and machine 2 on that computer, then each is assigned a specific number and it would show 2 active processors...

Does that help? Take care, :-)
