Need suggestions for an upgrade... (CPU/Mobo/RAM) - Page 2

That's what I was going to suggest instead of the E6400, now that there are 1.86ghz and 2.13ghz with 4MB of L2 cache, you can either go with the E6600 or E6420........the only difference is going to be the multi and the speed of course.

So, again, depends on high you want to get, the higher the multi, the higher you'd get of course. Is it worth spending an extra $40? In my opinion? Yes!

Heck, like I said, or just wait till the end of July and you'd be able to get a Q6600 for about the same price an E6600 currently cost right now.........Imagine 4 cores for $266, nice!

Thread Starter
Thanks again for the help!

I wish I could wait until the end of July but I just don't have it in me... (my bonus check is burning a hole in my pocket!)

So it seems like I've settled on the E6600 CPU, but I have a few questions about the motherboard.

I've made a new thread here (so it's more specific):

Dude, time flies...........I used to have a GeForce 6800 GS and for the longest I waited for the GeForce 8800 GTX because I wanted to get the best thing money could buy.......if I waited, you can as well.

In 60 days, you'd wish you would've waited. Believe me the reward will be greater. Mine was, I skipped all GeForce 7xxx series and didn't think they were great so I waited and baaam! The 8800 GTX is everything I ever wanted.
