x1950 pro and DNA drivers

Thread Starter
I bought this card after reading a few reviews comparing it to the 7900gs because it had the best results without needing to be overclocked. I also read that is was a difficult card to overclock. However it was only overclocked under ATI drivers using the ATI OVERDRIVE tool in the control panel. So when i squeezed it inside my little toaster i thought I'd have a go. I got no luck with the ATI drivers. So Now I've installed the latest release of DNA drivers and i've managed to up the CORE and MEMORY quite well and haven't seen a single artifact yet. The hottest its getting is about 77 digrees C stress testing with ATI TRAY TOOLS, and thats rare. This is all on stock cooling of coarse due to the limited space for a dual slot cooler or water cooling in the shuttle. Is this as far as i can go or could i go further?

My current clocks are 634:770 as a pose to the stock 580:702

You're about at the max on your core, you may squeeze out 648 on the core, I did.
Have you increased your fan speed yet?

I'd keep it under 80.

ok well i knew it could reach 750 but i wasn't sure about the temp. The fan is maxed and i'm still in the 70's with the 3d window in ATT open. It may be due to the small size of my pc, but the card is right beside the vent at the side which is pulling in air constantly due to the exaughst fan at the back. Did you have stock cooling?

tis a better cooler. The sapphire card has the standard one slot cooler. It's not very happy at 648 on the core so i've chucked it back down.
