The Official Socket 754 Overclocker's Thread - Page 62

I just mucked around last night with OC'ing my 3200+, and this is what I got out of it so far. Not stable, but any higher gives me a BSOD:

The mobo I'm using is an ASUS K8U-X, RAM is 2x 1gb Corsair DDR400 3-3-3-8. The BIOS makes it seem like I can do a lot with my memory, but it doesn't look like I can muck with tuning down my speed to 333, which is what I wanted to attempt.

It was suggested to me to drop my HT link to 600mhz (since I can only change it in 200mhz instances), but it BSOD'd with the bus at 232mhz.

If you guys have any other suggestions, that would be great. I have it running prime95 stable right now at 2.476ghz (225.1mhz, 11x) with idle temps ~28C, full stress ~47C.

Well...I would love to give it more volts, if I could. Max vcore setting for my mobo is 1.550v.

Hmmm... Noticed this thread (Yeah, it's an older one) and decided to subscribe.
Here's my recent results from the following chips used in a DFI NF4X Infinity or a Gigabyte GA-K8NS, all CPU-Z verified with steppings and relevant info included:

Those are some nice clocks. Are you on watercooling? I'm assuming those are suicide runs.

Well, those could be called suicide runs considering they were all done on air but with ambients in the mid 40's or lower with a old desktop fan (One of the really old ones with metal fan blades from the 50's or 60's) stuck up to the side of the case on high and both side covers off, that created some good cooling.
Also the fact the 3400+ Newcastle is delidded helped out too. The other two CPU's are mobiles so no lid to worry about there. Used a Zalman 92mm all copper cooler with these runs so the cooler itself was up to task - No problem.

Yes, I'm assembling a WC'ing system for my stuff and once it's done, I'll see if I can improve things. I also have a 3700+ Newark to turn loose as well once it's ready.

Awesome, I'm currently in the process or revitalizing my 754 rig. I'm going to stick a mobile 4000 newark in and see what it can do. I just have to boot my epox board with a desktop 754 chip and then set the bios so I can get the Newark 4000 mobile to boot loll. I'll post some results and my system configuration once I get my new power supply since my old one decided to crap on me. Maybe some pics too .

Check out my side-panel . Just revitalized the socket 754 beast!

Got my AMD Mobile 4000 chip to stabilize at just over 3.0ghz 2 hour OCCT Stable small fft's. This board is kind of special as it is one of the rare sli boards that were made for socket 754. So of course I had to fill up thos pcie slots! I put some 9600 gso's and OC'ed them to 650mhz core, 1625mhz shader, and 900 on the memory. I can load into windows at 3.1 but it blue screens pretty quick but I still have a bit of room I'm sitting around 1.53vcore right now. I've heard of these making it to a range of 3.2 - 3.4 but we will see!

Edit: The vcore on the cpu is actually 1.53 as my epox program states cpu-z and occt are reading it incorrectly for some reason.
