I know The 8600 SLI is better no argument but that adds $130 to my build cost bringing it over $900, G.Skill is great no argument, but by adding those 2 components I top the $1000 mark and I have to stay under $900

GPU's and Memory are easy to upgrade figured I could cut some corners there!

So if we could upgrade 1 part of the build what should that part be?

The Blue Orb fits with no problems! I have built many systems with that case and used the blue orb as the cpu cooler!

Get one good GFX Card, not two bad ones.

Also G.Skill has been really cheap on their ram lately, check out the HK ram if you are on a tight budget and don't need to overclock your ram much over 800MHz
post #9 of 18
just get ONE GOOD video card, it will RAPE TWO **** VIDEO CARDS...believe me.

2X7300 FTL, even ONE 7600gt would beat that and a 7600gt can be had around $100

I would get one X1900GT for $130

OR

get a GIGABYTE GA965P-DS3 (ver1.3) for $94, use savings and $130 allocated for video card to get the X1900XT

the performance difference is 1.5X for 7600gt
3X for x1900gt
and 4-5X for x1900xt

Get one of those 8600GTs and go for G.Skill PC 6400, the red ram. Its 83$ i believe.
For PSU get the 50$ XClio.
