Motorola Surfboard SB5100 Issue

Thread Starter
Nearly every time I play on a BF2 server for more than 20-30 minutes, I lose my connection. Now, this is only when a round goes longer than that. If the server changes the map, or starts another round, I'm usually fine. I've only been losing my connection when playing BF2, but I don't play any other games that have 30min rounds. Downloads are not effected ever, so I'm guess it has something to do with my upstream.

I have heard that people have been having issues with the Motorola Surfboard SB5100. I'm unsure of what to do to fix it, and I'm a complete cable noob, so any help/explaining is greatly appreciated and won't go unrewarded.

I can post logs too if it would help.

are you able to access your modem's diagnostic page? if so, drop any information in there here and Ill tell you what the problem is. If not, too bad.

j/k lol you probably have a bad return on your cable line, in which case when you get a high load on the modem the latency will cause the modem to cycle its connection therefore dropping internet. I would suggest calling your ISP and have them look at it and find out. Ask them what the docsis signal levels are on your return(aka upstream rx and upstream tx) see if they will tell you. More than likely that is where the problem is let me know if you need more info.
