Can a laptop's graphics be upgraded?

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm thinking about getting me the Alienware m3450 laptop and I saw a lot of laptops work with pci-e functions and compatibility....Is it possible for this laptop to be upgraded?

If you want you can give me a link for a nice laptop under a $1000 if it's better then the alienware

Thanks

For certain laptops it can be upgraded. But some video cards are bigger than others and might not fit in certain laptop cases.

What he said. Also, some graphic card, like those little Intel crap, X200, S3 thing are built in. But the 7600 for example, is a mini PCI-E GFX.

lol that just means the mobo has a thingy inside to allow for 16 lanes of pci. while it is the same speed as a desktop pci e it is not capable of upgrading. it will only run the video card the laptop came with.

Not true, some models of laptops allow small upgrades, they may have a few choices, say 2 or 3 graphics cards that will fit in that model.

Your best bet is to contact where you bought it from, or online, and just ask them directly, they will know if its possible and what cards will fit.
