My New Rig: Looking good enough?

Hey guys this is my first post at this forum -- I am excited to be here..

Anyways, I am looking into assembling my first PC system and these are the specs I have selected:

Quad Core Q 6600 + Zalman CNPS9500

Corsair TWIN2X 6400 (1GB x 4)

Asus P5K Delux, P35

Gainward Geforce 8800 GTS 640 mb

Coller Master Stacker 831 (No extra fans?)

Samsung Spin Point T166 1K Gb (500 GB X 2)

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Pro.

2.1 Creative I-Trigue Speakers

Hiper ATX 580W (Enough with power?)

-----------

Any thing that doesn't look quite right? Some components that are outdated or won't work together?

Any suggestions are truly appreciated

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Fredrik Frost

ps. I am sorry if I have broken any of the rules of the forum? I didn't have the time going through all the threads

pss. I am going to work mostly with 3D animation and such with this rig and I know a quadro card would be the best but I just can't afford one. I have worked with geforce before and they work out alright...

why buy the 9500?

If you plan on overclocking that quad at all that won't really cut it.

Looks good overall, but I'd switch out the power supply, the sound card, and the air cooler. For the sound card, try to pickup an ExtemeMusic version, so you have the ability to mod it if you choose to down the road. If not, it's still worth more because it can be The power supply isn't bad, but I'm not sold on Hiper and the air cooler costs as much as better alternatives.

Get at least an X-Fi Extreme Music.

Also im not sure how some of the coolers perform with quad core but if you look into watercooling you need to find specific wuad core blocks.

Wow, you guys are fast!

To just get one thing straight, I am not going to overclock my system (Yeah right why am I at overclock.net then?) I just want to build a solid system that can keep stable and cool..

If I was to switch out my air cooler you guys think a Tuniq Tower 120 Ultra Silent will do the job?

As for the sound card, I cannot get a music extreme on the site I am configuring at the moment, I will look into that right away... (*searching the web*)

Bingo! Alright so I have now found an X-Fi Xtreme Music Bulk (for about $20 less than the gaming card. Keep in mind that I live in Sweden so my prices are not the same as for you.)

Cooler Master eXtreme Power 650W or Corsair Powersupply 520W?

lol us Brits + Europeans have a nightmare with Hardware prices.

Ok teh Extreme Music will keep you happy

Tuniq Power are supposed to be very good, you may find it beneficial to create another thread in the Intel Cooling section as im not to sure on what is best to take away the heat from a Quad Core atm.

And i would advice the 650W if possible aslong as the reviews are good on it, i beleive you can suffice on a 520W but add more components and add in the manufacturers lie and you may be nearing MAX Load
