What's the better deal?

AMD 64 X2 3600 Brisbane (1.9ghz) for $70 , or , AMD 64 X2 Windsor (2.0ghz) for $75?

the brisbane is bettter as it is 65nm and the windsor is 90nm
post #3 of 9
Shouldn't the windsor be cheaper because of the 512kb cache???
You should get the Brisbane because it has twice the L2 cache, it's 65nm, and it overclocks much better than the Windsor.

Ummm....my 3800+ Windsor has 2x512k cache...same as Brisbane.

And cache isn't as important in the architecture of the AMD chips as it is with Intel chips.

Get Brisbane for 2 reasons:
1. Better overclocker.
2. It's cheaper anyway!

Even at stock I don't think you'd notice a real world difference between a 3600+ and a 3800+.

65 nm vs 90 nm should run cooler use less power and should clock higher

He's talking about 3600s and the 3600+ Brisbane has twice the L2 cache as the 3600+ Windsor, as can be seen here.
Having more L2 cache may not make a huge difference but it is still a reason to get the Brisbane over the Windsor.
