Poor thermal contact between CPU and waterblock, have reapplied AS5 many times

I have the Bigwater SE budget kit, and an 805 processor. Anyway, before my CPU used to run at 30 degrees idle on this same setup.. however recently my setup has been running at 50 degrees idle! I have removed teh components used isopropyl alcohol and wiped them clean and reapplied the AS5 in many different ways, the lowest temp i got was still like 48 idle! *** is going on?

Ive even lapped the old waterblock! And replaced the waterblock with a brand new one! Pls help

Oh, and this is at STOCK speeds!!

Sounds like your loop is getting dirty/clogged.

I don't know that kit, does Thermaltake recommend the best way to change the water, and clean the WB/rad.

You might even try taking some compressed air to the rad, there might be some dust build-up.

How long have you had that loop running?

Ive flushed the coolant several times, the water flow is PERFECT... I just feel that there is no heat exchange between the CPU and the waterblock

ive never been a fan of the thermaltake big water... the gigabyte system owns it.. but anywas check your rad, sound like its not getting rid of the heat, or you can get a new w\\c setup...

the radiator spits out cold air because there is no heat being transfered to the waterblock...which means there is no hot air to take out ... i may try a new water block or lapping my water block / cpu

Do you have airconditioning? If not, your room may be getting warmer as Summer gets under way.

Well you've got me... other then dirty coolant/rad/WB I don't know whats going on. Sounds like you've tried remounting the WB enough times to rule that out.

I like The Popes idea though... if you've got the extra cash a new system would do you wonders.
