small rad

Thread Starter
Is a small rad enough for cooling? I'm thinking of taking the plunge, but I'll have to buy one part at a time. There is a used rad for sale , single with 1/2 fittings @ $25. So is a single rad enough for my system?

It would depend on the rad is it a BIP or a BIX or a Thermochill 120? You can put high cfm fans on either side of a 120mm rad and get it to work better...If you are planning on OC'ing I would get a 240 rad for a cpu only loop and a 360 for a CPU and GPU loop...The bigger rads keep your temp's more even they wont spike so much....

I was looking at this http://www.overclock.net/sale/194570...iator-fan.html

I'm new to this, I thought I'd start with the Rad. My TT is becoming a pain because it's so big it slides when I reseat it so getting better temps are hard.

Should be okay with a high CFM fan.

I don't know thats a real thin rad...I'd look at getting a 240 rad for your loop..There is no need in buying things just because they are cheap if they wont work well....If you are only going to cool the CPU look at this as a starting point...
