Biostar TForce 550 SE

I have 2 questions/comments on this board.

1> Does CPUZ ever report what you set your vcore at in bios? I don't know if I have a setting wrong or what, but sometimes the reported voltage is not what I set it at !

2> Temperature reporting, does anyone get consistant reports with this board ? Or is it the Brisbane that does this?

On STOCK cooling with 22 cel ambient this is what core temp reported :

CPU-Z works fine for me on that board...I also have the version 1.3

I use Everest Ultimate for temps and for core #1 and #2 I get between 6 and 8 idle and for the whole I get from 14-16c for idle temps...

other than that all seems fine..I havent run into the goofy temp thing unless I had the m/b utility installed...and that just plain doesnt work at all for me..

do you realize how ridiculous (spelling?) your temps are?

Are you telling me your ambient temps (temps in your house) are < 32 degrees fahrenheit (freezing) cause your cpu @ 6 celsius = 32 fahrenheit (and it generates heat so has to be > ambient. And your load is 60 fahrenheit (16 cel)

My c2d is 20 cel > ambient at load (and its a cool running processor)

here are some screen shots of my 4000+ with the same temps...

Brisbanes have trouble reporting the real core temperature. That's been a problem for a while.

Did you just say that 6c is 32 Fahrenheit? Is your CPU really 20 degrees warmer than ambient temp. That's really warm, mine is about 4 degrees warmer than ambient.

I'm saying its not possible on air cooling, maybe phase (so temps are wrong using core temp)

(one of my original gripes)
I don't think core temp works with the Brisbanes. The only temp reading I trust is the CPU reading on everest and the biostar hardware monitor. CPU-z vcore seems to always run higher than my bios settings by .05 or more and it fluctuates alot.

I have noticed with the 9700 that temps can actually be cooler than ambient...not sure how but I also used a thermal probe and got the same idle temps...?

tis what it is...swaped out coolers and idle temps climb even with ambient...load was near the same +5c

CPU-Z displays my vcore higher than what shows in my BIOS...I always go with the BIOS.

Coretemp does not support brisbane cores! ATM all you can do is use programs supplier by the mobo manufacturer or even Everest sometimes gives you correct readings! I use Smartguardian since it was supplied by DFI and it's very acurate
