inspiron 5100

Thread Starter
I have a dell inspiron 5100 and it seems to be overheating very badly. The hard drive (hitchi 30 gig) was running at 51C. I am not sure how hot the CPU was running but i'm sure it was on up there. I know this hard drive will die if it keeps these temps up. I am trying to take it apart right now, but it's kinda hard to find all the screws, can anyone help me with a guide to taking apart a laptop? What about safe temps? What is safe temps for a hard drive in a laptop and a CPU? Also I want a wireless card for this laptop, I have one that you stick into the slot (I don't know what to call it) but I want an internal one, where can I find one?

thanks
Jacob

Thanks, I did it and it works great, everything is really cool and I even replaced the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu, the gpu had a weak little thermal pad , so I took that off and put some thermal paste on it, I can't read temps of it, but it should work great.
