noob questions about ram overclocking(OCZ)

Thread Starter
Asus A8N-SLi
2gb OCZ ddr400 Platinum
AMD 3200+

I have a 2ghz proc @ 2.3 with a 230HTT and a 10x multiplier. I had to drop the ram from 400mhz down to 333mhz to get it to run at advertised specs(2-3-2-5). When I look at the Memory Frequency in CPU-Z it says 195.something, deriving this number from the cpu/12(cpu divided by 12). I Can get the frequency to increase by increasing the HTT, in turn increasing the oc on my processor. My question is how can I get the Memory frequency to increase without increasing the HTT? The specs says it should run 2-3-2-5 @ 200mhz, but I see posts of people getting the mem frequency well above 200mhz.

TIA

There is one way. Play with the memory divider. That is it.

thanks for the reply almighty.

yeah thats what I figured..I cannot get this ram to run 2-3-2-5@400mhz, I can get 2-2-2-5@333mhz though.

What is the advertised voltage as well? Stock voltage for DDR memory is 2.6V, but OCZ may say you need more than that to run at advertised timings.

I'd run it at the higher clock/looser timings.

The advertised voltage is 2.6-2.8. I have it at 2.7.

Ragnarok, you're saying 2.5-3-2-5 2T@400mhz is better than 2-3-2-5 1t@333mhz?
