overclocking D805 problems!

Thread Starter
i have been stable at 3.2Ghz for a while until i got a new zalman CNPS 7700!
i want to try to oc it at least to 3.8, but there are so many over voltage and voltage control selections i didn't know which one to bump up first! can someone tell which ones to start bumping up?
these are the selections it gives me:
DIMM over voltage
PCI-E over voltage
FSB over voltage
CPU voltage control
i tried pushing it to 3.5Ghz but it just freezed at post!

The first voltage that will impact your CPU OC will be your CPU voltage control. Bump that up while keeping an eye on your temps and see what happens.

Someone said something about raising FSB Termination voltage to max. I dunno how that works on the PD's though...

ok im back after 15 reboots; from 1.35 to 1.45 cpu voltage is a no go. crashed on startup everytime. so i took a small leep for nerd kind and bumped up the dimm +.02 or .2 cant remember which and restarted and everything started up finer then a chick dryhumping a supercomputer!

so im at 3.4ghz from a 2.66! with idle temps at 37C on speedfan which is kind of odd bc its almost the same temps as when i was at 2.66. WIERD!

here are the results for the so called benchmark. i have been folding for a week or two now so i figured i would run two consoles for a while to see if everything is still stable. and its been running for about 30 minutes so far at about 60C which according to robert herring of dl.tv is fine!

I have a d805 that runs to 3.58 stable, on a zalman air cooler, with stock voltages. The main enemy is heat, so find a good monitoring program and let er rip. People have hit 4ghz with that chip.
