I have a zalman 9700. keep my e6600 under 57C load at 3.4Ghz. now summer my proc is getting hotter.

ok thanks all, my Zalman 9700 Arrived today, and the temps when OC'ed are WAY down, check shots, also is that right? like there ok temps?

Oh yeah.. Those are much better temps than what you had.

Wow, huge improvement. You're using good thermal paste or that stuff you mentioned before? If you can, get ahold of some Arctic Silver 5... it's only a few dollars for a small tube.

yeah im using the thermal paste that came with it and i plan to get a hold of some AS5

I'm positive your stock heatsink came with bad/poorly applied paste (Intel stock heatsinks do come with the paste applied, right)? Anyways, thats a huge improvement.

well as i was cleaning the contact area on the CPU to apply the new thermal paste stuff the original paste was very sparisly there and was really like chalky texture it didn't seem right, that wasent right was it?
