You have a lot of headroom now to get even higher clocks.

orthos is idle (not loaded) and at 85 you're asking for your cpu to fail.

I have my 6400 @ 3.4 with 1.35 volts with load temps of around 47 (if air is on 44, if not then up to 50)

i had my 6600 clocked to 3ghz. my core temp running orthos hit 57C. i freaked out and backed it down to 2.8. i cant believe you got into the high 80s.
Put it back to stock and get vcore as low as possible stable... My PresHOT overclocked with increased vcore on stock cooling don't even get close to that temp...

1. Great temps now amigo, now try 1.28V. I got my E6300 to 3.0Ghz at 1.23V. you will see your temps lower by about 2-3 degrees overall

2. it seems that Tjunction 85 degrees temp reading didnt move. is it indicating the max?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I don't have time to read through all the posts, but look through the BIOS for enabling an option called PECI. When i enabled it my reported temps dropped 20'C However that was only the reported CPU temps, not the core temps

I yielded better results with the Zalman super thermal grease on a Zalman 9700. Tried AS5 and temps were not as nearly as low as with the Zalman super thermal grease. Check the board for warpage near the sockett, make certain the Zalman dosent move after instal.
