Playing C&C Red Alert over network?

Thread Starter
OK, me and some buddies broke into the old games and we wanted to play Red Alert (yes, the first one) over the network - not an actual network, but we use Hamachi for a VPN.

Problem is that RA was int eh days of old and needs a serial/modem connection.

Does anyone know a workaround for this? Some sort of 'serial/modem emulator'?

Thanks

-And on a side note... why doesn't Red Alert 2's LAN game work?!

You need to install the IPX/SPX(I think) network protocol.

In xp right click on your network connection, then properties > instal protocol
