Info on these 8800's

Here's a link

So what i want to know is, what are the performance differences. I know the the GTX is obviously the better one and also the 320 GTS isn't the greatest but in all seriousness are the difference big enough for the differences in price? I'm looking to upgrade from my 6800gt, because I want a DX10 card and an HD card. Plus I'm going to be getting back into gaming and will be playing some new MMOs like WAR. Any useful info is always appreciated. Basically the bottom line is if I don't "need" to spend the extra money for a huge performance increase over my 6800gt I don't want to. Please help me out, as I've been out of the video card game for quite a while.

Well if you dont want to spend too much, go for the GTS 640 for those high resolutions when it comes to DX10

I don't know if you've really helped me... I'm wanting to know which will get me the best bang for the buck I guess... is the 320 enough or is the 640 what I should get? I mean I really don't know what I should be looking into because it's been so long since I've looked at getting a video card... should I even go nvidia? lol

Between the 320MB and the 640MB, it really depends on what resolution you'll be playing at. Sure, the extra 320MB would help out in future games, but drivers are currently bad with the DX10 demos.

I personally own the 640MB and am able to max every game I play with resolutions at 1440 x 900 with time to time stuttered due to the reason that I have 1GB of RAM.

I would say, go with the one that is on your budget. If you're not planning DX10 in the future, the 320MB should be able to max all your games with your current setup.

If you are wanting to stick with one of those three cards and EVGA I'd definitely go for the 320. The only difference between it and the 640 is the amount of ram only. The 320 will perform quite well until you reach high resolutions say north of 1680 x 1050. And of course with EVGA you could always "step-up" later on if you wanted too.

As alot of people mentioned, it all depend on the resolution. I guess 640MB would be a safer buy and value wise 320MB is definitely a better buy. The performances are nearly identical up to 1600x1200. But for the newer dx10 titles like Crysis, I don't know...

Buy 640 mb version. I have testad many games. TMN uses 300+ mb vram. Quake 4 uses 600+ mb vram etc. So I recommend going with 640 mb to be futureproof.

What size monitor do you have? if its 19" or smaller a 320 would probably be just fine, but for the extra $75-100 or whatever it is for a 640, its definitely worth the money. (especially if your screen is larger) It should run every DX9 game without a problem, and will get you well into the DX10 era.

I personally would suggest the 640 over the 320 and GTX, its probably the best price/performance ratio out of the three currently.
