two diff pumps in the same loop?

Would there be any issue if I put a "Laing DDC w/ Petra'sTech DDCT-01s Top Combo" in the same loop as my D5?

I wouldn't.... different flowrate. So one pump will inevitably be "push" the other one. This will lead to wear-out faster. It would be like putting a 100CFM fan in series with a 80CFM fan.

Besides, as long as you have decent flow already... you won't notice any temperature improvement unless your start doubling or tripling your flow.

You would have to watch out for the pressure increase, it might make your fittings more prone to leaking. Someone a while ago put up an article comparing serial vs parallel pump setup, serial flows a lot better from what I remember of the test. as far as I know there is no real problem with it, just make sure you don't start causing leaks. I know some people run 2 pumps just in case one dies so that it doesn't kill their pc.

Edit: after seeing DuckieHo's post I would agree that 2 pumps of different flow rates could cause problems. Might work though if they are on different ends of the loop.

I have horrible flow though :-/ . . . alot of vertical tubing and the Quad rad is located near the top . ..

I think it owuld work well in that situation if you had the more powerful pump low in the loop right before the rad pushing up to the rad and then had the other pump sometime after the rad and had something in between the pumps.

pump1->waterblocks -> pump2 ->rad

The important thing there would be to make sure that the pump1 is pushing through the rad and pump2 is pushing through the waterblocks. The pumps should not be pushing directly into one another.

Thats exactly what I what I was going to do, D5 -> CPU -> GPU -> Petra Top -> Quad Rad. . . Ill post pics of my WC soon so you can see the height I have to overcome.

Why another pump? The D5 should be able to take 1xCPU block, 2xGPU blocks and a 1xrad.

You will be bottlenecked to the flow of the weakest pump X 2 of course...I run my 2 in serial one right after the other...

That would mean another rad. . . and I would just go back to air cooled GPU before that. . . and the New pump would fit perfectly on the floor of the case under the GPU since the inlet is on top . . a D5 would have to lay sideways and would be an awkward fit in other places.
