Mine with a 240 BIX Stinger V-6 and 18W DDC would run 7-9C over what-ever room ambient was at 3019mhz and 1.55 V-Core...

E6600 with a 38% Overclock
http://www.overclock.net/gallery/dat...Load6-3-07.jpg

8800 gtx with a 16% Overclock
http://www.overclock.net/gallery/dat...emps6-3-07.jpg

So my CPU idle temps are not so good, but load is good. My 8800 is great all around.

I have another pump to split this out in two loops and some better fans, but I'm not expecting any major improvements. I do however like being ready for a second 8800 at some point though, trying to keep the GPU heat away from the CPU.

I've read many threads about variations in processors, 5C differences in not uncommon at all. My E6600 just runs hot idling overclocked, and even with my water temps only a couple of degrees higher than ambient, it's still higher than what I would have liked for idle. In the end I'm about 8C cooler idle and maybe 15C cooler than my scythe Infinity HSF with two high speed fans running. My 8800gtx is about 25C cooler on idle and 42C cooler on load than stock!

Just set up my C2D e6600 today, and it's running stock @ 21º/21ºC idle and 36º/36ºC full load(1hr)
on stock air with an ambient room temp of 21ºC.

Tomorrow I'll start OC'ing on water, first with Fuzion and then the Stingers.

Man I guess my E6600 is just one hot mutha!

Very interested in how your V8 comparison goes, I've been thinking I may consider switching the fuzion over to a V8. I saw one thread somewhere else were a guy went from an apogee GT to the fuzion and got higher idle temps, but much lower load temps. That's somewhat consistent with what I'm getting...I idle high, but my load is hardly any higher with pretty good loads.

Keep us posted on your V8 vs Fuzion results.
Thanks!

Believe me I will. I finished the Opty 165 WB results weeks ago, and just wanted to put a C2D test rig together
and run the same WB shootout first, so I can post both AMD and Intel dual core results on these blocks.
