Overclocking AMD ATHLON 3800+ Duel core x2

Hi, I'm new to this overclocking i have recently built myself a new PC, and would like to get it overclocked but with all the forums I have been looking at and the websites I have been reading on, most of it is going over my head.

system is:

AMD ATHLON 3800+ Duel core processor with a
Coolermaster Gemini-II Six Heatpipe Cooler
with 2xCoolermaster 120mm Fan
mobo is GIGABYTE M55S-S3
and I have 2 1GB Kingston DDR2 667 desktop Memory, PC2-5300 RAM
graphics card is ATI X1950 PRO (512MB)
all enclosed in a Antec Nine Hundred Case

the bios has been set to auto and normal in settings,

from what i have readup i should be able to overclock the processor to about 2.88Ghz with it still being stable..

any help will be helpful..

First of all welcome to the forum

You have got a pretty nice gig but please can you fill in the system specs from user cp so we can see your system in your sig.

You can start of by reading the Ultimate overclocking guide Then Ram timmings for dummies

Predicting your expected overclock is pretty impossible as there are too many variables. But i guess you should expect around 2.6- 3.0 , i would say around 2.7
