Looking for a budget Pci-e card

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
My mobo just broke and I need a new one, except the vid card i've been using is AGP, and I can't even find a mobo that supports it right now, so I'm upgrading to PCI-e.

I'm looking for some thing maybe around 50-75$ that'll allow me to run most mid-level games on near max settings (WoW, Guildwars, Dawn of War, Halflife2/CCS etc.) My old card using omega drivers could get decent fps near max in those games without AA.

Its---> http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-192-1.htm

Anyone know any cheap pci-e card that can perform near/better than that?

Thx

ATi Radeon X700Pro, or X800 series would do you well. i myself have owned an x700pro with your exact same CPU, played CSS at 1280X1024 max w/o AA at around 40-50 fps.

Hmm I'm considering a x700pro...I read some reviews and the 6600gt seems to have a habit of frying itself, the 7600gs was out of stock (dammit)
