On some WUs it makes very little difference, on others it makes a huge difference.

There is talk that version 6 of the folding clients will have new processor/cache/memory detection that will give processors with less cache, WUs that are less cache intensive. This has been discussed with its pros and cons on the stanford forums.

1700 to 2000 minutes (28.3 to 33.33 hours) for smp

im usually around 20-22 hours for a WU but it can be more depending on how much gaming i do

i'm going avg 17 to 20 min wu, but sometimes I get 12-14 min wu's

It all averages out
