I have read countless threads in this forum and the majority are recommending ridiculous memory speeds and Micron D9's. And as bl**y usual nobody actually can be bothered to answer my questions!

What benefit does having superfast ram when your not likely to be using the FSB required to utilize the speeds?
Of course regular day to day use will not need these speeds. But I can tell you without a doubt, that the FSB and RAM speeds directly impact the performance of folding. A processor that can perform fast calculations needs more cache to keep it working non stop. In turn the higher your FSB and Memory speeds, the faster you can load and unload your processors cache.

This becomes very obvious when you compare capabilities between equally clocked CPUs with different amounts of cache, and different speeds of RAM.
